The single-storey Villa Ocean borders the rice fields and is comprised of a main building with three bedrooms and a stand-alone guest house in the garden with one bedroom.
The main building presents a spacious living and dining area, which is open at the front to a sheltered terrace from where guests can step onto the pool deck and into the 12m swimming pool – against the blissful backdrop of the ocean. Folding glass doors can be closed between the terrace and the living room for a more cosy experience. The terrace is furnished with daybeds and coffee tables, and the indoor area offers cushioned rattan sofas and ottomans, a coffee table and a large wall-mounted TV. A large dining table crafted from a single piece of wood is flanked by 12 chairs, and next to this is a fully equipped open-plan kitchen with a service bar and two stools.
The three air-conditioned bedrooms in the main building are furnished with desks, chairs and hanging spaces. The master has a king bed, a daybed, Timorese carvings and arched alcoves; another bedroom is furnished with a queen-size bed, and the third bedroom features twin beds that can be converted to a double. The romantic ensuite garden bathrooms are entered via Lombok doors inlaid with mother of pearl; each is equipped with a standing shower and either river rock or marble washbasins.
The second building is a cute single-storey one-bedroom guest house with a thatched roof – perfect for a couple who wish to escape from the rest of the family. Accessed by four steps, the bedroom is air conditioned and furnished with a double bed, hanging space, and a sofa that doubles as a bed for a child. The ensuite, open-air courtyard bathroom is equipped with a standing shower.
The swimming pool measures 12m x 3m, with a wide stone deck furnished with two double sunloungers and flanked by raised dining balé with a table and bench seats for ten. A balé relaxation pavilion sits at the edge of the garden overlooking the beach and the jaw-dropping views of the coastline.
