Guests enter the two-storey villa through an open-air lounge into a reception hall adorned with glass lanterns. This leads into the living room, which is furnished with large sofas and fitted with folding doors into the garden. The dining room, next door, presents a massive table, crafted from the largest single piece of timber in Bali; it seats 24 diners and requires as many men to lift it! Adjacent is a large, air-conditioned room with satellite-channel TV/DVD player and pool table, and on the far side is a state-of-the-art kitchen.
Four of the six, air-conditioned bedrooms are identical (two downstairs, two upstairs) and named after the colours of their ornate ceilings. Each has a king-size bed with a queen-size trundle bed underneath and a splendid ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower and free-standing tub for two. The master bedroom (ground floor) has a four-poster king bed and ensuite bathroom that acts as an additional spa facility and is suitable for disabled guests with walk-in shower, bathtub, twin washbasins, hair-washing basin and massage bed.
The smallest bedroom is the Seaview room, with a carved four-poster bed from the eastern isles, picture windows, and glass doors that open to a charming balcony with white wrought iron furniture and a stunning ocean view. This room is upstairs and shares a shower-room with the adjacent lounge, which is a delightful, breezy room with white shutters, a soaring roof with ornately-carved beams, 180-degree-views and a horseshoe-shaped sofa for 12 that hugs the windows. The lounge is also equipped with a bar and a dining table for six. On the other side of the bar is a semi-open-air sitting corner with satellite-channel TV/ DVD. A four-poster, king-size bed in the upstairs lounge makes it an optional seventh bedroom.
Expansive gardens wrap around the villa, fronted with a glass wall to ensure a full view of the ocean. An alfresco dining pergola draped in passionfruit offers a table for ten next to the large swimming pool, while the kids’ playground and spa are situated in separate sections of the garden. The spa is gorgeous; housed in an antique, wooden joglo building, it is equipped with twin massage beds and an open-air bathroom with a copper bathtub and jacuzzi.
